Fabulous day! The weather was perfect for the Gay Pride and Two-Spirit Community Ceremony to unveil the first Rainbow Crosswalks (x2) in Whistler, BC. We were honored to witness the event and special Two-Spirit ceremony.

We must thank Dean Nelson, CEO of Gay Whistler for inviting us. Dean was instrumental in getting these Rainbow Crosswalks installed.

The endless noise of politics to the south of us is hard to wade through for many people in Canada. Our country has been getting more attention lately, held up as a bastion of hope in an otherwise depressing time. If you take a good look, it becomes rather superficial.

A Senator that doesn't know who is Canadian

Senator Lynn Beyak encouraged First Nations people to "Trade your status card[s] for a Canadian citizenship" — ignoring that First Nations people are Canadian from birth. There are dozens of indigenous communities under boil-water advisory, some enduring these conditions for decades.

One of the many Educational Documentary Series we will be producing is called Inspire — looking at the Artists and Musicians that inspire each Social Movement.

I first saw Michael Franti's 'I Know I'm Not Alone' Documentary at SASQUATCH! Music Festival. It planted a seed inside of me that grew into this website.

The group 'ANTIFA' has been getting a lot of attention recently. I felt the need to understand exactly who they are and why The Identity-Lens Project cannot support their actions.

Who is ANTIFA?

The term 'Antifa' refers to self-styled Anti-Fascists groups. The US DHS classifies Antifa actions as domestic terrorist violence.

Why I do NOT support them

I firmly believe that Antifa's violence is directly counter-productive. The Alt Right claim to be victims — Antifa gives them exactly what they need. I support peaceful protest but cannot support violence as a political tool.

The Identity-Lens Project crew is taking a trip from our HQ in Vancouver, BC up to Whistler for a very special event on September 15th. The first Rainbow Crosswalk in Whistler is set to be unveiled!

The Rainbow Crosswalk marks Whistler Pride and Ski Festival's 25th Anniversary. Dean Wilson of GayWhistler.com has kindly invited us up to meet and connect with key LGBT people and community leaders.

When we launched back in 2016, we believed that every person deserves a platform to speak about the issues that matter most. Civil rights. Climate rights. Cyber rights. Human dignity. That belief has not changed.

We are now officially open for article submissions from anyone. No journalism degree. No political credentials. No social media following required. If you are a human being with something to say about human rights, we want to hear from you.

Your experience is valid. Your story is important. Your voice deserves to be heard.

What We Are Looking For

We welcome articles, essays, personal stories, analysis, and commentary on Civil Rights, Climate Rights, Cyber Rights, Social Movements, Human Rights, Community Activism, and Cultural Identity. 400 to 2,000 words recommended.
